I have a TON of Prism, but they only come in packs by me and I try to get individual colors at the store near me & I only saw DMC. I bought 2 different colors and they BOTH fray. Is it just me? Or is it the brand?
Prism doesn't do this but it is made to make bracelets. & I think DMC is made for actual embroidery
Am I right?
Oh and I looked on their website and I only saw embroidery but I don't know, maybe you guys know better xD
PS - I thought this fit in this section because you will be giving me a tip xD heh

I personally like DMC, but I sometimes purposely fray the stuff to make my bracelets thinner.

I've never had any problem with DMC floss and fraying. On the other hand, I have several other brands (purchased from ebay), and they don't fray, either.
The only time it does fray, however, is when you try to undo a few knots and accidentally pick at only five of the six threads. But that's an exception, not the rule.

Right off the top, you should know that DMC makes Prism. I don't think they want that floating around because they still want their more expensive brand to sell, but there.
I make it a point not to buy DMC, because it's more expensive. The majority of what I use my thread for is testing and playing around -- not for anything of importance, so that saves me some money.
As far as thread type, it's a personal preference. Use what you like, what give you the result you are looking for.

I don't really like DMC, though I've only used it a couple times because it's more expensive then the brands I buy. I have Anchor... if that is how you spell it and one called DFM but that can only be bought in bulk and is a craft thread.

I only use mercerized thread like DMC Perle. The strings are binded together making it impossible to fray or unravel. Iris, and Designs for Needles are brands I use as well, never tried Anchor. You can get the strings at michaels joanns or online.
