I need help? I want to make some bracelets. But I don't know which one to do. I think I need some challenge but I don't know what will challenging me enough. How do you choose what you are making. And if you have some idea of pattern I should please let me know. I think I am able to do pretty much everything so go for it and give me some challenge or idea. Thanks a lot in advance because I absolutely need help.

I know some people just decide to make every bracelet from a book or another person's homepage. *shrugs* Not my style, mostly because I don't usually like all bracelets I find somewhere, but it is an option.

Personally, I usually choose a field I want to experiment in, like shaped bracelets or multicolored alphas. My current project patiently waiting to be finished a long time from now is this one:

Maybe you want to try it? It's an 11-colored alphabet style bracelet, and you can pretty much throw every out the window that has to do with "regular" three-colored alphas. Things just don't work out that way.

Of course, there are other challenges, like trying your first tube bracelet, your first zolino or... wait a minute, I know something else that works for making rather interesting patterns.

Like Olympe said, I just pick some pattern, because I don't like all patterns that are on someone's homepage. So for me it's basically just a random pick. If I'm in the mood for a big bracelet I choose one I like with more threads then when I don't really feel like knotting but am bored, then I just choose one with 8 to 10 threads.

i LOVE alpha patterns they are awesome really
so mostly i do alpha , i see a pattern that i like and just go for it ,maybe change the colors a bit if i think it will look nicer .
anyway right now i am totally obsessed with twilight so am doing all its patterns
and this month its "ramadan" so am thinking of making a bracelet related to ramadan

i think you could just look around in the picture gallery , i found some complicated patterns there
maybe start with threads like Olympe or Melinda they've done some awesome bracelets and so on , or u could search at steffe's too (like if u love skulls or hearts or ying yangs search for them)

ooh and another good idea (i know the post is long enough but am trying to squeeze my brain for good ideas) u could search for a picture of something that u like and make a pattern out of it =]

I pick my colors first then choose a pattern that will compliment them...and then sometimes I just randomly choose a pattern saved on my computer...usually depends on my mood.

It really depends on my mood.
Sometimes I see a pattern and have to start it at once, no matter how many other bracelets I've already started.
Sometimes I see a color or pick a color combination, then pick a pattern that matches the pattern.
And sometimes I browse my saved patterns or books and just make the one that catches my eye first.
